I always suggest using the Default Email transport method:

To ensure emails are sent to your members, you will want to notify the most popular email providers using their bulk email notification. This will whitelist your forum domain to ensure emails go to your members.

AOL

Google

Microsoft (hotmail and msn.com)

After setting up all the DKIM/DMARC stuff for my domain, it looks like emails are getting through to Yahoo and Google now. I've stopped getting bounces from them. AT&T is the one killing me at the moment. I cannot find a place to submit my info for whitelisting. All I can find is the email they give in the bounce messages,

553 5.3.0 flpd588 DNSBL:ATTRBL 521< MY IP ADDRESS >_is_blocked.For assistance forward this email to abuse_rbl@abuse-att.net

I've done that with several. I got a boiler plate reply. Other than that, nothing so far
